IANUS was born from the vision of two brilliant minds: Prof. Dr. Ing. Frank Platte and Dr. Ing. Tobias Herken. In 2006, their idea sparked the creation of IANUS Simulation GmbH, a spin-off company from TU Dortmund.

It all began with a talented team – a collective brain trust of mathematicians, IT specialists, physicists, chemists, and more. Together, they poured their expertise into crafting code, building presentations, and relentlessly pursuing their vision: a revolutionary framework with the potential to transform the world.

IANUS’ journey is far from over. While the initial team consisted of just two individuals, today, a passionate group stands at the company’s core. Fueled by curiosity and a shared goal of redefining technical performance, the IANUS team continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
